Mitch Settle is Managing Director of The Settle Group. With a career spanning more than four decades, Mitch has built a reputation as one of Kentucky’s leading financial advisors. Mitch is known for his approachability, integrity, and deep commitment to helping families and institutions achieve long-term financial success.
Mitch began his career in 1986 at Hilliard Lyons, working alongside his father, Roy Settle. Their shared mission of service, professionalism, and long-term client care laid the foundation for what is now The Settle Group of Baird, where Mitch serves as Managing Director.
Mitch was a long-standing member of the Hilliard Lyons CEO Council, an honor reserved for the top 1% of advisors until the firm’s merger with Baird in 2019. Today, he continues to consistently rank as a top producer among the firm’s 1,400 advisors. Mitch’s excellence in the industry has earned him national honors, such as:

Beyond professional achievements, Mitch is focused on advancing education and strengthening community. A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College (1983), he now holds the honor of Trustee Emeriti following a Board tenure from 1986 to 2018. Additional honors bestowed by the college include: Outstanding Alumnus (2007) and KWC Hall of Fame (2018). Mitch served on the Advisory Board of German American Bank and the Executive Board of First Security Bank for more than two decades. He currently serves as Chairman of The George Greenwell Charitable Foundation and actively supports numerous community organizations.
Outside the office, Mitch is known for his enthusiasm for sports cars and a lifelong passion for running. Mitch and his wife, Kim, are the proud parents of two daughters, Sydney and Shelby, and grandparents to two grandsons, Charlie and Franklin. Mitch also has the privilege of working alongside his son‑in‑law, Aaron Payne, who joined the firm in 2024.
